Meet The Artist

Sue Ash

Am I an artist? Mmm not sure I can make that lofty claim but I do love to be creative and work across a range of mediums. Having just taken part in the #10daychallenge on Instagram what has become clear is that ink, in one form or another, features highly in my work.

I have taken part in Swindon Open Studios since 2018 and now serve on its committee. I have held solo and joint exhibitions within Swindon (currently exhibiting alongside Deborah Battaglia at The Hop Inn) and had two photographs selected for the Swindon Museum & Art Gallery open exhibition in 2019.

My work is influenced by a love of nature, from home and further afield. Last year's pointillism series of African mammals was based on my own photographs from Namibia and South Africa. I am passionate about conservation and continue to make donations from sales of prints and cards from this series to Poached Rhino (reg. charity #1153221).

I will be participating at this weekend's SOS Art Market at Eastcott Studios where some new original works will be hanging in Mams Gallery. Prints and cards of old favourites will be on sale in Eastcott Studios.
