John Webb

In the 1960s John Webb did some truly historic paintings of Swindon’s Railway Workshops, which are now on display near to where they were painted! At the time he was a gifted art student at Swindon Art School, after which he continued his studies at Birmingham School of Arts & Crafts. John died last year. His art is exhibited by colleague Trevor Hancock (also exhibiting at The Carriage Works), to whom he left it.

John mostly worked in watercolours, with some pen & ink and oils. His paintings depict the countryside, buildings, coast, and railways. Greetings cards and prints of John's work are available. John's ceramics of birds with flowers etc., also vases and bowls, will be on show. You can take an unpainted ceramic to paint!
