EXHIBITION

We are celebrating the history of Swindon Open Studios (SOS), with an exhibition called I ❤️SOS. We will tell the stories of some of the artists who have taken part in this popular community art event over the years.

As part of Swindon Arts Fringe (SWAF), we will be in The Carriage Works from 11 am to 5:30 pm daily from Monday, 16th to Sunday, 29th of June 2025, inclusive. We will be sharing the space with 4 other SWAF exhibitions, it is free to enter, so come on down and see some inspiring visual arts.

We are proud to showcase 31 artists, covering SOS’s history. Including work from those who are having their first Open Studios exhibition this September, to the sculpture that featured on the cover of a brochure for an open studios event in 2003, run by Artscape. That event paved the way for Swindon Open Studios to be officially set up in 2004, and the rest is history.

Poetry Swindon have teamed up with SOS to run a writing competition with a £50 prize. Running in conjunction with Swindon Arts Fringe and Swindon Open Studios, the theme is to write about Art in Swindon.

Some of the entries will be displayed  in the exhibition, and a prize giving will be held nearby on Saturday 28th June at 2pm. Full Ts&Cs of the competition can be found on the Poetry Swindon website.
