Maria McCann
I have been fascinated by optics and light ever since I can remember, influenced by kaleidoscopes and telescopes. Transmission, reflection, refraction, and diffraction of light have influenced choices throughout my life from reading physics and applied physics at university, to becoming my creative inspiration.
I started as a stained-glass artist but felt I needed to manipulate the colours, textures, and styles of glass - so began my passion with kiln formed fused glass. I have been working with warm glass for 11 years, but I never grow tired of playing with light and colour to achieve the effect I am after.
