John studied at Swindon Art School and Birmingham School of Arts & Crafts. After some years in teaching, ceramics and retail, John returned to his love of painting.
He works in watercolour, oils and pen & ink. John’s output includes landscapes, seascapes, wildlife, churches and railways. As an art student in 1962, John was able to make his own historical record in art of Swindon’s Railway Workshops before their dissolution. Many of these works, created on-site, are featured in this exhibition.
John is exhibiting giclée fine art prints of his work. These will be available to purchase, plus smaller prints and greetings cards.
John has been selected by Richard Jefferies Museum as their hosted Swindon Open Studios Artist this year.
